1. a pleasant surprise

Cincinnati typically isn’t the first place anyone thinks of when they want to move, but it happened to be the place that I chose. Since moving here, I’ve discovered that this place has a lot of hidden gems and doesn’t always get the credit it deserves. While it is no New York City or LA, this place definitely comes with character. If you know me, you know I love to eat and explore. So in an effort to get to know the city better and to share it all with you, I’m going to do my best to feature a new place each week- I hope that isn’t too ambitious of me.

    without further adieu…

forkheartknife is one of my absolute favorite places here. If it weren’t closing (because of overwhelming popularity that the owners can’t handle) this would be at the top of my list for every visitor. They only have 4 tables in their tiny restaurant and the menu changes everyday. It was started by a group of friends that just enjoyed the idea of cooking for others and being in the kitchen. They are only open for dinner on Thursdays and brunch on Sat + Sun, but there is almost always a line out the door. There’s nothing flashy about this place, but it gives you the feeling of sharing a meal with friends in your very own kitchen…the only difference is that the food is amazing and the coffee is to-die-for. I think if I ever owned a restaurant or bakery, it’d model something like this. Alright, now that I’ve convinced you all of how wonderful forkheartknife is, I need to head there now to get in my Thursday night dinner!
